Day 1-5 | On arrival at Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport you will be transferred to the Sabi Sands Game Reserve.

Overnight on a full board basis including 2 daily game drives at Lion Sands Private Game Reserve – River Lodge.

The Sabi Sands Game Reserve shares a common 50 km unfenced boundary with the Kruger National park to the east. Two perennial rivers, the Sabi and the Sand flow through this Game Park, sustaining the diverse fauna and flora of the area, which enjoys one of the highest and most bio-diverse wildlife populations of any area in Africa.

Lion Sand Private Game Reserve
Lion Sands consists of two lodges namely, River Lodge - with 20 river-view thatched rooms (40 beds) with en-suite bathroom, shower, private game viewing deck and outside shower. Ivory Lodge - With 6 ultra luxurious suites (12 beds) with en-suite bathroom, shower, courtyard, lounge with fireplace, wooden viewing deck, patio & private plunge pool.

The River Lodge is the soul of Lion Sands and has been built on the banks of the Sabi River, positioned on a site with trees dating back 800 years. Facing due east, the lodge catches the sun as it rises over the Kruger National Park. Hosted by a family of staff that make it feel like home away from home, the lodge is about spirit, warmth and nature. Here you are invited to relax and experience African hospitality at its finest.

The public areas at the River Lodge offer guests the following: a private lounge and bar with fireplace, an outdoor safari lounge, 2 swimming pools (heated in winter), wooden viewing decks, a secluded bird hide, a magnificent River Island Deck built on the river, a conference room, Lalamuka Health Spa & gymnasium, curio shop & both an indoor and open-air (Boma) dining area.

The rooms at the River Lodge offer respite and protection from the Lowveld heat. The interior is a tranquil cream and beige haven, cool in the summer, cosy in the winter. The bathroom, with its tranquil look and pebble-inlaid floors complements the bushveld well. There are 18 luxurious thatched bedrooms with en-suite bathroom, outdoor & inside shower & wooden viewing deck. The bedroom area is air-conditioned with an overhead fan. All rooms have a mini-bar & telephone access. The rooms are linked to all areas by raised wooden walkways.

Day 5 | This morning after breakfast you will be transferred back to Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport for your flight to Johannesburg International Airport. Upon arrival at Johannesburg International Airport, continue to International Departure’s Terminal for your connecting flight back home.
