Botswana is arguably the most beautiful place for an Africa safari. By combining three lodges in three reserves, this tour is one of our favorites. Included is a helicopter ride, which affords you the best view of the Delta yet!

Day 1 | Arrive in Johannesburg where you will be met by a local representative. You will then be transferred to the Fairlawns Boutique Hotel & Spa to relax after your long flight.

Day 2 | After an early morning breakfast you will be transferred to the airport for your flight to Maun, Botswana (flight not included). On arrival in Maun you will be met for your light aircraft flight into the heart of the Okavango delta. Check into the lodge for lunch before your afternoon activity. The activities from the lodge are designed around the flood waters of the Okavango river and vary depending on flood levels.

Head out in traditional mokoros - local dug-out canoes - in search of Africa’s game. In the deep water areas the focus is more on the incredible bird life that is sustained by the delta and certain rare animal species that thrive in this water wonderland, like the lechwe. Return to the lodge for dinner.

Day 3 | Enjoy a full day at the lodge exploring the waterways of the delta with your guide who will help you make the most of your time here.
Note: Included in your stay is an awesome helicopter safari over the delta, this is one of the highlights of the tour as you skim over the delta for 45 minutes and cover areas unreachable by boat or vehicle.

Day 4 | After a final morning excursion on the waterways of the delta you will transfer to the airstrip for your lodge hop to Khwai River Lodge, nestled on the edge of a leadwood and fig tree forest, overlooking the vast Khwai River floodplains and beyond into the Moremi Wildlife Reserve. Settle into the lodge and relax before your afternoon safari.

Khwai is renowned for its large concentrations of mammals and it is not unusual to see many different types of wildlife from the comfort of your own private deck. As a year round destination for wildlife, predators can regularly be seen in the area, rated as one of the most prolific in Botswana for viewing wildlife. The exceptional location of Khwai makes it a regular host to Elephant, Buffalo, Lion, Leopard, Cheetah and Wild Dogs. Birdlife can also be viewed in abundance with exceptional sightings of wildfowl and raptors near the lodge. Return to the lodge after your afternoon safari for dinner.

Day 5 | Enjoy a full day at Khwai River lodge where you will be treated to twice daily game drives in open 4x4 vehicles as well as options to enjoy guided walks along the banks of the Khwai River. Due to the lodges location on the border of the Moremi Wildlife Reserve, it means that the lodge is also able to offer clients night time spot-light game viewing activities.

Moremi covers some 4,871 km2, as the eastern section of the Okavango Delta. Moremi is mostly described as one of the most beautiful wildlife reserves in Africa as it combines mopane woodland and acacia forests, floodplains and lagoons. It is the great diversity of plant and animal life that makes Moremi so well known. The reserve contains within its boundaries approximately twenty percent of the Okavango Delta. There are a wide range of habitats in Moremi; from riparian woodland, floodplain, reed beds, permanent wetland through mopane forest to dry savanna woodland. The mainland part forms only about thirty percent of the reserve and is, in many ways untypical - the remaining area being part of the Okavango Delta.

Day 6 | After a final morning drive and breakfast it is time to head north into the drier Savute area of the Chobe Game Reserve. Perched on the former banks of the now dry Savute Channel, the camp offers a spectacular birds eye view of elephant in their natural habitat, with an adjacent water hole just meters away from the camps main building, the impressions created at Savute will last forever. Enjoy lunch at the lodge before your afternoon 4x4 safari into the reserve. Return from the drive for dinner at the lodge.

Day 7 | Enjoy the full day at Savute with twice daily safaris. The Savute is a dramatic area to see high concentrations of elephant and lions. Prides up to 40 strong are not uncommon as are sighting of all the other major predators; the endangered wild dog, leopard, cheetah and the hyena.

Day 8 | After a final morning drive and breakfast it is time to head back to Maun via light aircraft where you'll board your onward flight.
