Botswana is one of the most sought after safari destinations in the world. It's landscape sums up what every safari experience should be, with its vast savannah, desert, wetlands and salt pans, making it an ideal safari vacation destination.
The carefully balanced ecosystem of Botswana is completely unique. Not a drop of the over 27,000 million liters of water that flow to this part of the Kalahari Desert ever leaves, instead it's devoured into the Okavango Delta. This river is also unusual in that it flows in opposit directions each year!
On the eastern fringe of The Delta lies the Moremi Game Reserve, famous for its beauty and diversity of wildlife, including herds of elephant, buffalo, giraffe and many species of antelope. Another most unusual area is the Linyanti Region, part of the Chobe National Park. Here, in the dry season, the concentration of game can be so vast that you can see Buffalo, Zebra and Widebeest herds in their thousands, with a lion pride 20-strong close on their heels. The Northern part of Chobe, is a magnificent place, full of a variety of terrain only matched by the incredible diversity of its wildlife. It is most famous for its elephants, who make their way to drink at the Chobe River. It's said to contain the highest concentration of elephants in the world, with an estimated winter population of around 25,000.
